Medical Assistants (MAs)
Each MA performs front-desk and clinical duties, that are instrumental in ensuring our patients feel welcomed, heard and respected at all times.
Walk-In GYN demands excellence and expects each MA to deliver compassionate care for our patients at every interaction.

MA Responsibilities:

  • Absolute and unwavering commitment to teamwork and the values of Walk-In GYN
  • Welcome patients by greeting them in person or on the telephone
  • Verify patient information by interviewing patient, recording medical history, confirming purpose of visit
  • Prepare patients for their health care visit by accompanying them to the exam room
  • Perform preliminary physical tests; take blood pressure, weight, and temperature; reporting patient history summary
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding
  • Perform Phlebotomy and collect other lab specimens as ordered
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations including, but not limited to those from OSHA, HIPPA, New York Department of Health and CDC
  • Maintain supplies, equipment, stocks, and sterilizing instruments
  • Assist Providers with medical procedures, including Colposcopy, Biopsies, and IUD Insertions
  • Generate revenue by recording billing information of services rendered, completing insurance forms, and responding to insurance and other third-party inquiries
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential
  • Answer phones, schedule appointments, perform appropriate referrals and follow-ups

Working Hours:
Our standard weekday practice hours are 8 am to 6 pm, with a clock-in by 7:30am. And weekend practice hours are 10 am to 3 pm, with a clock-in by 9:30 am.

The practice hours are for patient care only, and employees are expected to complete all tasks before leaving, depending on overall volume and staffing levels the clock-out time can be between 6-9 pm on weekdays and between 3-5 pm on weekends. However, total hours per week are carefully managed to a total of 40 hours.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Medical Assistant Diploma
  • CMA / AAMA Certified
  • Gynecology (2-years)
  • Electronic Medical Records (2-years)
  • Phlebotomy (2-years)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • A firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
  • Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
