Physician Assistants (PAs) / Nurse Practitioners (FNP or WHNP)

Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners are essential in the completion of physicals, providing treatment, and counseling patients in relation to their womenโ€™s health needs. Each mid-level provider is instrumental in ensuring our patients feel welcomed, heard, and respected at all times.

Walk-In GYN demands excellence and expects each provider to deliver compassionate care for our patients at every interaction.

This role is expected to be a blend of remote work and potentially traveling to each of our physical locations (Astoria, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Middle Village, Bayside, Staten Island and Beverly Hills). The remote component of your role will include TeleHealth services that by law require you to live and provide those services from a location in New York State.

Responsibilities:

  • Absolute and unwavering commitment to teamwork and the values of Walk-In GYN
  • Welcome patients by greeting them in person, telephone, or TeleHealth
  • Examine patients to obtain and assess information about their physical condition
  • Impeccable clinical skills in-person and via TeleHealth platforms
  • Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients
  • Prescribe therapy or medication with physician approval as needed
  • Administer, order, and analyze diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, electrocardiogram, and laboratory tests to inform diagnosis or treatment
  • Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes, and results of physical examination
  • Instruct and counsel patients about prescribed therapeutic regimens
  • Provide health and wellness advice to patients, family members, or caregivers
  • Secure patient information and maintain patient confidence by completing and safeguarding medical records; completing diagnostic coding and procedure coding
  • Maintain a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards and procedures and complying with legal regulations including, but not limited to those from OSHA, HIPPA, New York Department of Health, and CDC
  • Generate revenue by recording billing information of services rendered, completing insurance forms, and responding to insurance and other third-party inquiries
  • Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping patient care information confidential
  • Following up on ordered lab and imaging test, referrals, and appointments as necessary
  • Being a team leader and setting the right example for the team

Working Hours:
Our standard weekday practice hours are 8 am to 6 pm, with a clock-in by 7:30 am. And weekend practice hours are 10 am to 3 pm, with a clock-in by 9:30 am.

The practice hours are for patient care only, and employees are expected to complete all tasks before leaving, depending on overall volume and staffing levels the clock-out time can be between 6 pm to 9 pm on weekdays and between 3 pm to 5 pm on weekends. However, total hours per week are carefully managed to a total of 40 hours.

For remote work, the hours can be flexible but require a minimum of 6 hours of work daily with fixed scheduled availability for telehealth visits.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree
  • NYS PA/ FNP/ WHNP Certification
  • Gynecology (2-years)
  • Electronic Medical Records (2-years)
  • Based within New York State (required by law for TeleHealth services)

  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a courteous and friendly manner at all times
  • Must be detail-oriented and highly organized
  • A firm grasp on medical practices, administrative processes, and organizational policies
  • Knowledge of patient care and examination procedures
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality at all times
